This dainty `Ulu Quilt Pattern Necklace is the perfect delicate touch to wear everyday. Made from your choice of gold fill or sterling silver, this will not tarnish and can get wet!
Information about our gold filled cutouts:
This cutout is designed, cut, and polished in our studio. It is cut from gold filled sheet metal and therefore the cut edges are showing. The sides can appear to darken but this is normal because the core of the gold fill metal is exposed to the air which can lead to oxidation. The front and back will remain shiny and beautiful as this is the part that is real 14k gold.
This is not plated, which is an extremely thin coating of gold that is electroplated over base metal. The front and back of the gold will not wear away like gold plated jewelry will.
About Gold Fill
Gold fill jewelry is tarnish resistant, but when you're able to we encourage to remove and store in a dry place. Repeated exposure to soaps, lotions, and the consistent rubbing against your skin can cause the gold fill to wear away at a faster rate. If you never remove your gold fill jewelry such as to swim, shower, or sleep, you may notice the gold wearing away as early as 6 months - 1 year. If you remove your gold fill pieces regularly you won't notice wear and tear on your gold for many years or even a lifetime.
